Wessex Downs Artists are a group of local contemporary artists who come together throughout the year to showcase top notch art in Newbury and the North Wessex Downs.
We are home to some of the best emerging artists from our region working in realism, impressionism, expressionism and semi abstract styles mostly of landscapes, florals and wildlife.
Several of our artists are award winning.
Our mission is to give local art lovers the opportunity to see art by local artists who are inspired by nature.

Our artists work together to show top quality art from local professional artists . Artist run exhibitions allow local art lovers to consider professional work but at prices which are more affordable than traditional galleries. It also gives collectors the opportunity to really get to know the artists, their inspirations, their process and the meaning of the work.
Wessex Downs Artists is currently closed to new members. However, if you are interested in joining us, please do not hesitate to ask about our application process and our waiting list.
Our artists work is as different as they are from each other but what unites them is their dedication to their art, the quality of what they produce for their collectors and the inspiration that nature provides them.
Our artists are at different stages in their careers. Most are early stage or emerging artists.
